Currently, I am working on the non-independent inheritance of traits and its influence on the selection response. Traits are often genetically correlated by pleiotropy or linkage disequilibrium. These intricacies of genetic architecture and dependencies among traits are efficiently summed up by the additive variance-covariance matrix, G. I will be concentrating on the estimation and comparison of G matrices of song traits in three Acridid grasshopper species, Gomphocerus sibiricus, Chorthippus biguttulus and Chorthippus parallelus.
